F Guitar Chord

The main position for beginners and less hard :

• first (index) finger on string 1 and 2 – fret 1
• second (middle) finger on string 3 – fret 2
• third (ring) finger on string 4 – fret 3

For this chord all the strings are played.

Another version of the F chord more close to the full bare chord is the following:

• first (index) finger on string 1 and 2 – fret 1
• second (middle) finger on string 3 – fret 2
• third (ring) finger on string 5 – fret 3
• fourth (pinky) finger on string 4 – fret 3

The full (barre) F chord for an intermediate player :

• first (index) finger on string 1 and 6 (barre on all strings) – fret 1
• second (middle) finger on string 5 – fret 2
• third (ring) finger on string 4 – fret 2
• fourth (pinky) finger on string 2 – fret 3

This chord has a different sound and can be used as a variation of the main E chord position with the fourth finger pressing the string 2 on fret 3.
