Pentatonic Minor Scale Guitar Patterns

0

The pentatonic scale is the most simple and the most used guitar scale and it contains 5 notes (penta = 5).

In this post it will be presented only the positions for E minor pentatonic scale. The other corresponding scales (ex. C, D, F, F# etc.) can be obtained by translating these patterns left or right on the the guitar fretboard.

There is a relationship between minor and major pentatonic scales. In the case of E minor pentatonic scale, the corresponding one is the G major pentatonic scale, witch has exactly the same notes but with different roots.

There are 5 positions or patterns on the guitar fretboard for the pentatonic scale.

The notes marked with green color in images are the root notes of the scale.
